Allison Schieler’s professional dance training began upon her acceptance to LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, where she studied classical ballet, pointe, the Horton and Graham techniques, tap, and jazz. She also supplemented this extensive dance education with training in acrobatics, taking classes in contortion, balance, and tumbling. The recipient of a National Merit Award in modern dance and a New York Regional Award in choreography in the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts/YoungArts competition, Allison graduated from LaGuardia with the “Graduation Dance Award,” the department’s highest honor. She continued her education as a dance major at New York University/Tisch School of the Arts, where she trained with and performed works by Joshua Bergasse, David Dorfman Dance, Battleworks, Kate Weare, Séan Curran, Keigwin + Company, Ron K. Brown and Evidence Dance Company, and Ellis Wood Dance. During her time at NYU, Allison was selected to perform at “The Face of Tisch Gala” honoring alum Billy Crystal, allowing her the opportunity to perform, both dance and acrobatics, alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams, and Billy Crystal.

After graduating, Allison decided to more steadily pursue her acrobatic training, taking classes at places such as The Sky Box, Aerial Arts NYC, and Body & Pole, focusing on contortion, pole, and Lyra. Upon completing the work-study program at Body & Pole in 2014, she was hired to teach flexibility and handstand classes. Shortly after, she was hired to teach contortion and handstand classes at Aerial Arts NYC. Allison currently performs her handbalancing/contortion and aerial acts around the U.S. with numerous circus entertainment companies including Phoenix Entertainment, Cirque Central, High Caliber Entertainment, and ImaginAerial. She can also be seen performing at Duane Park, one of NYC’s premier burlesque supper clubs. Allison currently teaches -  and is available for private instruction - as well as freelances as a professional dancer, choreographer, and acrobat. Some recent appearances include The Pix 11 Morning Show, Cosmopolitan Magazine, as well as cameos on the television series The Following on Fox; Deception on ABC; and The Tick on Amazon Prime.
